Community Shares Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government and National Lottery Community Fund to help promote the use of community shares.
Our Edinburgh-based team is on hand to provide free support and guidance to anybody interested to learn more about community shares.
Eligible groups can receive up to six days of tailored consultancy to help develop a community share offer.
We also welcome applications to our Microgrant to support the marketing and promotion of a community share offer.
Our programme is delivered by the Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS). Together with our DTAS colleagues we have developed model rules for the registration of community benefit societies, which are particularly well suited to development trusts and other community anchor organisations.
We work in close partnership with Co-operative Development Scotland and the Plunkett Foundation to provide comprehensive support to anybody interested in starting or growing a community business in Scotland. To learn more about this support please visit our Community Business: Making it Easy page.
Since our programmed launched in 2014, we have helped Scottish societies to raise over £12 million with community shares. You can find out more in our latest Impact Report.
