The move into community ownership saw the shop rebranded as The Community Carrot, as which it will continue to operate as a champion for fresh produce and sustainability.

This co-operative consists of a shop, post office and petrol station which, back in 2003 successfully raised £12,500 through community shares.

It became clear there was a real desire among local people to re-establish a community-owned greengrocer in Bruntsfield to complement the other independent shops in the area.
